The ICE1001 is extremely versatile HF Preselector; it contains three Mini-Pole filters covering the frequency ranges 1.5-4, 4-10, and 10-30 MHz. The internal switching network is accomplished using PIN diodes, thus switching speed is fast and switching insertion loss is a low 0.6dB. The ICE1001 includes an amplifier to overcome filter loss. For the HF Preselector, the product of %BW x IL is typically equal to 20. This holds true across the entire tuning range of any internal filter band.

Interface and Control Notes:
Frequency Tuning Address
The ICE1001 utilizes an eleven-bit scheme for tune words to digitally control tuning of the center frequency for each of the filters bands (1.5-4, 4-10, and 10-30 MHz ) within this preselector. For further information on how to calculate tune words, please see the Frequency Tuning Address Application Note.
Strobe
The filter is tuned within 200μSec for (1.5 to 4.0 MHz) and 100μSec (4.0 to 10 MHz) and 10μSec (10 to 30 MHz) to the frequency designated by the tune word derived from the eleven bits clocked in when the STB line is brought low. Once strobed, data existing on the data lines is ignored until strobed again. Maximum strobe rate for standard filters is 170Hz for frequencies below 10MHz.
RF Power Handling Capability
The filters are designed to operate with RF input power levels up to 1 Watt (+30 dBm), inband. Signals in the filter stop band up to 5 Watts at the input will not cause damage to the filter.
Serial Timing Diagram

Notes: 1) Serial data is clocked in on the positive edge of CLK. 2) Maximum CLK speed is 2 MHz. 3) Refer to Switching Characteristics Sheet for timing.
